"When we found out later that day that the photographer had been reserved for our day by another bride, we questioned why we hadn't heard about this sooner...
We approached them about these issues, and made it clear that we expected better communication from them as things move forward... AND THEY TOLD US TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Overall, it seems that when the going got tough for [wedding services planner], they decided it was easier to just back out than to do things the right way the first time."
If you're providing wedding services, you definitely will encounter one of those "bridezilla" types that will do nothing but complain about how things are going. However, the true measure of a professional wedding planner is in the ability to handle this situation. If you think you cannot deal with a couple that's pulling you in all directions, you should promptly and respectfully give them a notice. Be direct, but be sincere with your apology. Show that you are still competent, however, you can recommend a more fitting wedding planner for them. Always, always, communicate with clients in order to avoid future problems.
