Any Texas small business owner who wants to start a website should remember: Keyword research for your niche is not rocket science. Anyone can do it with programs such as Wordtracker or Google Adwords (I prefer using the latter, since you don't have to create an account if you already signed up for Gmail).

But why do I have to know my keywords?

It goes without saying that if you know your keywords, then you know your target market, and you can come up with various strategies to reach that market. You can optimize your site, you can network under the same topic, and know exactly what your potential customers are searching for online. Keywords = extremely indispensable.

So don't be lazy. If you're not inclined to take care of this dirty work, hire an SEO expert/web designer who does not charge an arm and leg for this type of job. If you want to start a website or already have one, your keywords will propel you to your success.

Here's an extra tip: When you use Adwords, try hunting for highly searched terms with less competition for your Texas small business. This is easy,  but if you're not too sure how this works, ask me! Your comment is always welcome.
